Composter

I picked up a compost bin from Clean Air Gardening and set it up in the back corner of the yard. We keep a little pail in the kitchen and put all our kitchen scraps in there (coffee grounds, fruit, vegetables, etc.—no meat or cheese) and empty it in the compost bin about once a week. It’s cut down on our trash drastically and no, we haven’t had any problem with smells or pests. Every time I empty the pail I toss in a layer of sawdust from our living room restoration, or dry leaves from the yard. When I think of it, I spin it to aerate the compost. Simple. I don’t know why we didn’t start doing this sooner! Good for the environment and great for the garden.
